Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine is 2017’s bestselling hardback debut

It’s fair to say that Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman has been capturing hearts everywhere with its quirky heroine and poignant depiction of loneliness. Since it was published in May by HarperCollins, it spent 10 weeks in the Sunday Times bestseller list, 20 weeks in the Top 20 and has been optioned for film by Reese Witherspoon’s Hello, Sunshine.

And now it’s official: Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine is the biggest selling hardback debut of the whole year. This unique and charming debut has sold over 100,000 copies in the UK since its publication in May, and in celebration of this remarkable milestone it is getting its very own Christmas cover, perfect for gifting to a loved one.

We’re thrilled that BBC Radio 4 have selected Eleanor Oliphant as their Christmas Book at Bedtime (airing the week starting 11th December), and delighted that it has also been shortlisted for 2017 Books Are My Bag (BAMB) Readers Awards.
