How Do You Like Me Now? by Holly Bourne publishes today

Holly Bourne has made a name for herself writing relatable, hilarious and powerful young adult fiction. It was only a matter of time before she turned her hand to an adult book, and her debut How Do You Like Me Now? publishes today in hardback with Hodder.

The book was optioned by Ecosse Films for TV shortly after Hodder pre-empted the book in 2017 and its publication has been eagerly awaited ever since. Red included it in their books of 2018, The Bookseller named it June’s Book of the Month and just this week it has won Book Wars in Stylist magazine and received a rapturous review in the Evening Standardwho called it: “truly a f***ing good novel.”

It’s not just the media who love Holly’s adult offering though, writers including Marian Keyes have been raving about it, saying: “This book is so good, and so honest about being a woman.”

The novel centres around Tori Bailey, a bestselling memoirist who makes a living telling others how to live their best lives whilst her own is falling apart. With the tagline: “Turning thirty is like playing musical chairs. The music stops, and everyone just marries whoever they happen to be sitting on”How Do You Like Me Now? explores what it’s like to be a woman turning thirty, the pressures of the world around us and the cavern between the lives we project and the ones we actually lead. Here’s a video where Holly tells you a little more about the book.

Congratulations Holly – your adult debut is electrifying, and we’re thrilled to see readers already responding with such acclaim.
