Just Call Me Spaghetti Hoop Boy and The Hypnotist nominated for the Carnegie Medal

We’re absolutely delighted, and incredibly proud, to share the news that two Madeleine Milburn Literary Agency authors have been nominated for the Carnegie Medal.

Just Call Me Spaghetti-Hoop Boy by Lara Williamson and The Hypnotist by Laurence Anholt are both on the list for the CILIP Carnegie Medal 2018. Previous winners of the CILIP Carnegie Medal include Neil Gaiman, Sally Gardner, Patrick Ness, Terry Pratchett, Philip Pullman and C.S. Lewis; so both books are in great company.

Just Call Me Spaghetti-Hoop Boy has also been longlisted for the Redbridge Children’s Book Award, a prize selected by librarians and schools, which is – like the character’s name – simply Ace. Double congratulations, Lara!

The shortlists and winners will be announced next year – we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled, and fingers crossed.
