Anna Hogarty: What I’m Looking For

Actively looking for: inspirational narrative non-fiction; projects in the area of mindfulness, meditation, calm and sleep; ideas for enhanced living; books with an emphasis on empowerment and self-worth; nature writing; inspirational animals; people with extraordinary lives; simple and practical prose with glimmers of beauty.

One of my great passions is yoga, which I teach, and I’m interested in working with new voices in this area: quests to find oneself, to break away from the everyday, live more mindfully and learn from Eastern traditions… If you have a new way of approaching wellness or healing, or have written a memoir in line with Cheryl Strayed’s WILD, I’d love to have a read.

I’m also looking for projects on how we can live life more fully: be it through nature, sports, and creativity; ways to digitally detox and sleep better; guidance on how we can nourish ourselves through our choices; or strategies for when it all falls apart. I’m drawn to difficult topics we should talk about more often: heartbreak, loneliness, silence, grief. I’d like a book on healing, and I will always be drawn in by magic and ghosts.

For non-fiction, a strong profile in your field is important, or a clear and current hook that makes your offering that little bit different. Do share comparable titles in the market today, and let me know what makes your project shine.
