Thérèse Coen will join the Madeleine Milburn Literary, TV & Film Agency as Rights Agent in July, and Sarah O’Halloran will join the agency as a Literary Agent in August
Thérèse Coen moves from her position as Rights Executive at Ed Victor Ltd, where she managed foreign rights across both the Ed Victor list and Toby Mundy Associates. Prior to this, she was Rights Executive at Bloomsbury Publishing. Coen will be responsible for selling translation rights in all foreign language territories.
Coen said: ‘I am delighted to be joining Madeleine’s hugely successful agency. Madeleine has built such an exciting list and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to sell her titles to international markets.’
Sarah O’Halloran moves from Louise Allen-Jones Associates where she works as a literary scout across all markets. She previously worked with the agent Norman North at The Agency Ltd, and has also worked at Curtis Brown and the Marsh Agency. O’Halloran will focus on building an exciting new list of upmarket adult fiction and non-fiction, and as well as children’s and YA.
O’Halloran said: ‘I’m absolutely delighted to be joining such an exciting and dynamic agency. I will be looking for upmarket commercial fiction and accessible literary fiction as well as contemporary children’s and YA. I’m also excited to be establishing the agency’s non-fiction list, with a particular focus on history, popular culture, biography and memoir. Whether it’s fiction or non-fiction I’m looking for strong, original voices, great writing and powerful storytelling, and I look forward to adding new names to Madeleine’s incredibly impressive list of clients.’
Milburn added: ‘I am thrilled to welcome Thérèse and Sarah to the team, expanding the agency’s reach and bringing even more talent to our list. I’ve long admired their energy and work with international publishers, and I am hugely excited about growing the agency’s presence in national and international markets.’
