Charlie Bird is a pseudonym for two established authors who live in the West Country and write as a duo:
Laurence Anholt (pictured) is part of one of the world’s most successful children’s author/illustrator teams published by Penguin Random House. He and his wife Catherine have written and illustrated more than 200 books, which have been translated into over 30 languages, winning the Nestlé Smarties Gold Award twice. Laurence’s first novel, The Hypnotist, a Young Adult crossover, was published by Penguin Random House in 2016; it was officially endorsed by Amnesty International and is shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal.
Paddy Magrane is a journalist who writes for the Telegraph, Guardian and Observer, and a qualified psychotherapist. He’s also the author of Disorder and Denial, two fast-paced conspiracy thrillers published by Fahrenheit Press. His contacts include senior police officers and crime specialists.
