Jane Torday is the author of nine books ranging through social history, biography, cooking and gardening. Since the 1980s, she has contributed articles to national and local media and featured on radio and television.
Latterly focusing on family biography, ‘Dearest Jane – My Father’s Life and Letters‘ was published by Constable Robinson in 2014.
A former copywriter in London in the late 1960s, she moved to Northumberland in the 1970s where she created and ran three book centred enterprises – Toad Hall Children’s books, Christmas Tree Books and The Garden Station.
Jane Torday lives in a farmhouse with a courtyard garden in a beautiful corner of Northumberland. She has two sons, three grandchildren and a large extended family.
